La plage de l’Océan in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins: the ultimate seaside getaway!

When temperatures rise, there’s nothing like the sea air to escape the summer heat. Between dunes and pine forest, the Plage de l’Océan stretches for several kilometers. A popular beach for families, board sports enthusiasts and holidaymakers in search of space and nature.

A large family beach with natural charm

In Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, the Plage de l’Océan is one of the most most beautiful beaches in Loire-Atlantique. Wild, spacious and unspoilt, it’s a natural wonder. Surrounded by pine trees and bordered by dunes, the long Brevin beach offers a calm, relaxing environment.

On the seafront, a number of snack bars, toilets and play areas complete the facilities. A beach club welcomes children in July and August, with games, entertainment and supervised swimming.

Parents, remember to pass by the lifeguard station as soon as you arrive on the beach. The lifeguards will provide you with free identification bracelets: simply write your name and address on them and attach them to your child’s wrist. It’s a simple gesture, for added peace of mind when swimming. Colorful totems also line the beach to help children (and adults!) find their way around easily.

A supervised beach all summer long

During the summer season, the Plage de l’Océan is supervised. A 300-meter-wide bathing area is marked out to the north of the line of the allée des Vignes. The beach has also been awarded the Handiplage label, with a tiralo and a seahorse chair available. Easy access thanks to wooden decking and a duckboard walkway.

Water sports for all tastes

The Plage de l’Océan is also a popular spot for sports enthusiasts. Windsurfing, bodyboarding, sand yachting, paddleboarding… The Saint-Brevin Nautical Center, located on the Pointeau site, just a stone’s throw from the beach, offers introductory courses, workshops and equipment rental.

At low tide, the foreshore is wide open, perfect for barefoot strolls, watching for sea creatures with the kids, or poking around in the sand in search of shells. At the end of the day, kite-flying enthusiasts will be delighted by the constant coastal wind.
