Located on the west Atlantic coast, between theLoire Estuary at Saint-Brévin-les-Pins and the Breton marshes of the Vendée, the Côte de Jade attracts many tourists. Lined with long sandy beaches, hidden coves, steep coastlines and pretty little seaside resorts, the Côte de Jade is a great place to visit and explore. Your Les Rochelets campsite in Saint-Brevin has put together a menu for you to discover.

Strolling along the paths…
If you’re a lover of the sea and breathtaking scenery, there’s plenty to enjoy on your walks along the Côte de Jade. Whether you’re on foot, kayak, horseback or… bicycle, there are many trails to choose from. Ranging from 5 to 50 kilometers (or more, if you prefer), these trails take you along the seashore, the river or inland. You’ll be sure to appreciate the Côte de Jade’s wilder southern landscapes, dotted with creeks, sandy beaches, forests and atypical little ports.
From your campsite in Saint-Brévin-les-Pins, put on your sneakers and set off on the GR8. It links up with the famous “sentier des douaniers” (customs path) that runs along the Vendée coast to the Bay of Aiguillon-sur-Mer. An absolutely intoxicating stroll through a blend of iodized scents and pine trees. You’ll follow a mosaic of very different landscapes: from fisheries to marshes, from dunes to forest, from rocky coast to vast stretches of beach. All along the way, you’ll enjoy remarkable views and wonderful encounters.
The seaside resorts of the Côte de Jade
From Pornic to Saint-Brévin-les-Pins, via La Plaine-sur-Mer and Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef, the seaside towns that make up the Côte de Jade are highly sought-after. They are set in a natural, unspoilt environment. Here, you can enjoy swimming, all kinds of water sports, fishing on foot, strolls around the marinas and visits to the picturesque little streets.
The pointe de Saint-Gildas, in Préfailles, offers a panoramic view of the Loire estuary. You can also visit the Musée du Sémaphore. This century-old lighthouse overlooks the sea.
Discover the town of Pornic, its old port and its castle (the famous Bluebeard castle!). Fancy a gourmet break? Enjoy the local produce: galettes de Saint-Michel, Curé Nantais cheese, “La Brigantine” beer from the Côte de Jade brewery! And why such an attractive name? “La Côte de Jade” was named after the deep green color of the waves that lined this beautiful French territory.
