A visit to the Océarium du Croisic is an incredibly enriching experience for the whole family, but it can also be frustrating if you don’t do your homework. Here are six tips to make the most of your visit to Le Croisic’s famous aquarium!

1. Buy your tickets online to save time
When planning your visit to the Océarium du Croisic, consider buying your tickets online. This will save you time on arrival andavoid queues at the ticket office. Alternatively, you should know that the last admission on site is allowed up to one hour before the Océarium closes (7 p.m.).
2. Visit the Océarium in the morning, as soon as it opens.
To get the most out of your visit, we advise you to avoid peak periods, mainly between mid-July and the 3rd week of August. We recommend arriving early in the morning. The aquarium opens at 10 am. Avoid rainy days, too, as the aquarium is usually very busy when it rains (and yes, people fall back on indoor activities!).
Opening hours: 10am to 7pm from April to September inclusive (8pm in July and August). 2pm to 6pm in November and December. Annual closure in January.
3. Allow sufficient visiting time
There’s no ideal length for a visit to the Océarium du Croisic. The aquarium’s website announces a 1h30 visit, but take all the time you need! Several benches along the tour route allow you to sit back and contemplate the stingrays and sharks without seeing the time go by!
4. Consult the calendar and timetable of events
Before your visit, make sure you don’t miss out on any of the activities on offer, including octopus and penguin feeding, a presentation of Australian sharks, and augmented reality animations throughout the day.
5. Pack a picnic lunch
It is not possible to eat inside the aquarium. However, a picnic area is located next to the site. Alternatively, 800 meters from the Océarium, on the port of Le Croisic, you’ll find a wide choice of restaurants, crêperies and shops for eating out. Please note: all exits from the Océarium are final!
6. How do I get to the Océarium du Croisic?
The Océarium is located on the Croisic peninsula, near the port of Le Croisic, 40 minutes from our campsite in St Brévin, Loire-Atlantique. If you’re coming by car, here’s the address to enter in your GPS: Avenue de Saint-Goustan, 44490 Le Croisic. The parking lot is free, but quickly sells out on busy days. There is a special area for motorhomes, but overnight stays are not permitted.
