Markets in Saint-Brévin-les-Pins
In Saint-Brévin, there are several weekly markets throughout the year. Here’s a rundown of the markets where you can stroll and stock up on good produce!
- Marché des Pins (year-round) : Thursday and Sunday mornings, Place Henri Baslé (Pins district).
- Marché de l’Océan (year-round): Saturday morning, Avenue du Président – Roosevelt.
- Marché de l’Hermitage (summer only): Wednesday morning, place de l’Hermitage.
Local produce and good cheer on the market menu
Fresh, local produce is very popular with tourists: fresh fish, meats, cheeses, eggs, pancakes, cakes… Choice and quality. You’ll also find plenty of hawkers and peddlers selling clothes, textiles, shoes, costume jewelry and accessories.
In July and August, enjoy summer fruits (plums, cherries, apples, watermelons, melons, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, figs, etc.) and vegetables (garlic, artichokes, eggplant, broccoli, green beans, zucchini, radishes, lettuces, tomatoes, etc.). Perfect for smoothies, gazpacho or mixed salads.
It’s well worth the stroll, and you’ll work up an appetite as you wander around the stalls selling ready-made meals, roast chicken and other delicacies that fill the square. The shopkeepers are very friendly and available to advise you.
