1. Its beaches
Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, the département boasts no fewer than 90 beaches and coves that are a delight for holidaymakers during the summer season! Among Loire-Atlantique’s finest beaches is the large Plage de l’Hermitage in Saint-Brévin, just a stone’s throw from Les Rochelets campsite, which is as popular for swimming as it is for kitesurfing and sand yachting. But it’s not the region’s only specialty! Other sweet delicacies include Bottereau and gâteau nantais. And for holidaymakers and cheese lovers visiting Pornic, there’s the opportunity to visit the Pornic cheese dairy, where the famous Curé Nantais is produced.
