Initiated in 2007 by the Voyage à Nantes (VAN), the route from Nantes to Saint-Nazaire begins on the north bank and returns on the south bank. In fact, there’s no real sense of direction!

Each work accompanies a strong natural element, whether a little-known treasure or a historical landmark. Take the “Anneaux de Buren” on theIle de Nantes, initiated in 2007. They showcase the beauty of the Loire and the architectural beauty of the quays and warehouses.

Let’s continue on the left bank, with “Misconceivable” the super-soft boat ready to fall on the commune of Le Pellerin. Erwin Wurm uses humor and the absurd to make the boat irresistibly drawn to the river.

In Paimboeuf, on the right bank, Kinya Maruyama ‘s “Starry Garden” surprises from afar. Here, he offers another view of the Loire landscape. Before arriving in Saint-Nazaire to see Dewar et Gicquel’s giant “Le pied, le pull et le système digestif”, let’s stop in front of the “Serpent d’Océan“ in Saint-Brévin-les-Pins.

Located just a few hundred meters from your Les Rochelets campsite, the skeleton of a giant snake emerging from the ocean is surprisingly large and realistic…

Débord de Loire: a great festive event

The nautical and artistic event returns every 3 years!
